"Husbands"
Beware soon-to-be husbands. Your life is going to
change in ways that you will never comprehend. Any control you
relinquish to your wife can never be obtained again. By the time you
are married for 3 years you will discover that you can't even dress
yourself correctly. I don't completely understand this since at some
point your wife thought you were handsome enough to marry. By the time
you reach the five year mark your wife will have control of your
complete financial world. You will discover that the $25.00 a week
allowance you get has single handedly destroyed your families dreams of
financial independence. Never ever set your payroll check to be
directly deposited. If you have already done this it's over with.
Accept it. Understand that this is not a problem with your wife. You
were the flawed individual that allowed this to happen. Your station in
life is now to provide raw pre-taxed income to your household and some
occasional slave labor. Occasionally your wife will reward you with sex
and make sure you understand the sacrifice she made to allow you to have
that 5 minutes of bliss. You will be interrogated for any expenditures
you have made because she will need to determine if it was reasonable.
You may be able to run a multi-million dollar company but you are a
lost cause dealing with your personal finances. Lastly you need to make
sure that you truly understand that you are wrong all of the time and
let her know you are wrong all of the time sincerely. A simple
admission of failure or of being incorrect will not do.

"Politicians"
I would think that as an elected official a person
would behave in a certain fashion. They would not act petty or call
names. It’s a real problem with elected officials. It seems as if the
candidates are focusing on why there opponent can’t do the job rather
than telling us what their plan is to get the job done. One candidate
telling me why his or her opponent can’t do the job correctly is the
same thing as telling me who to vote for. It would be less disgraceful
for each of them to tell me their ideas about how to correct current
problems. This would be a pure and clean environment for a voter to
cast his ballot. I find myself siding with the Republicans more often
than not but there is no political party that is innocent of this
behavior. There should never be a public debate between candidates. If
you want them on the same stage at the same time then make it so they
cannot see or hear each other and ask them the same questions. Let them
both answer. You might be surprised at how similar their answers are.
Usually you don’t get an answer at all, just a bunch of double-talk.
When I hear a reporter ask a question of an elected official and the
official actually answers the question, it just blows me away.

I am a happy guy. Life is good. America is a wonderful country. Okay,
I have one small complaint…
WHO INVENTED BANKRUPTCY LAWS !!!
A friend of mine named Jack is an entrepreneur. His bakery company
sells tacos, tortillas, etc. to Mexican restaurants. One of these
restaurants, Las Putas del Fuegos, purchased $10,000 per month from
Jack’s company. In January, they paid December’s bill as usual. Then
they stopped paying their monthly bill. In March, Las Putas filed
bankruptcy. As you probably expect, Jack did not get his money for
January, February, or March. He lost $30,000. Jack was very happy
about this. Jack likes to support the laws of America. Las Putas were
off the hook, but who would get Jack off? This scenario happens
everyday … ALL ACROSS YOUR WONDERFUL COUNTRY ! But, here is what might
surprise you. One and a half years later …. the bankruptcy estate of
Las Putas informed Jack that HE OWED THEM $10,000 plus interest. It
seems that the bankruptcy laws state money paid within the 90 PRIOR to
the filing of the bankruptcy must be GIVEN BACK. IT IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH
THAT JACK LOST $30,000! Nearly two years later, Jack must voluntarily
lose another $10,000. Is America a great place to run a business or
what?

"Grass For Everyone"
Marijuana has been in use for centuries. It has been used for religious
ceremonies, medicinal purposes, and just for fun. Everyone knows that
marijuana is illegal. But, did you know that marijuana is currently on
the “Schedule 1” list of controlled substances under the Controlled
Substances Act. This places marijuana in the same category as heroin!
If marijuana were moved to the “Schedule 2” list, marijuana could be
prescribed for medicinal purposes. It is claimed that marijuana
provides significant medical benefits to those suffering from glaucoma,
AIDS related eating disorders, and nausea associated with cancer
treatment.
Everyone knows that
marijuana is EXTREMELY ADDICTIVE. That is why so many people are being
treated for “GRASS ADDICTION”. I see where a new 100,000 square foot
MARIJUANA DETOX UNIT is being constructed in downtown League City. The
reality is that the DEA has responsibility for enforcing the marijuana
laws. If marijuana were not illegal …. WE WOULDN’T NEED SO MANY DEA
AGENTS !!!
Many elderly patients,
patients with AIDS, and cancer patients are unable to swallow pain
medications without suffering nausea. Smoked marijuana is an
alternative to ingesting more pills and actually stimulates appetite.
Of course, the pharmaceutical companies would lose some business if we
have access to this alternative pain killer.
“Dronabinol (Marinolâ)
, a synthetic form of the active marijuana constituent
delta-9-tetrahydrocannibol (THC), is available by prescription for use
as an antiemetic.” An antiemetic is a drug that helps control nausea
and vomiting. In other words, the main ingredient in marijuana is
ALREADY available by prescription.
In the year 2000
pharmaceutical companies spent $96 million in lobbying efforts. If
marijuana were available as an antiemetic drug the sale of many other
drugs would be reduced. According to some estimates there could be 15
million patients diagnosed with cancer by the year 2020. Obviously
there will be no support by the pharmaceutical companies.
I am not proposing unrestricted access to
marijuana. But marijuana is not the same as heroin. Moving marijuana
to the Schedule 2 list would still mean it is a controlled substance
just like pain killers. Of course, Vicodan, Valium, Prozac, and other
prescribed drugs are NEVER abused.

"What The Hell Is Wrong With
Everyone"
What the hell is wrong with our government? What the hell is wrong with
our media? I am referring to the latest embarrassment of our country,
THE PRISONER SCANDAL. Now if you are the person that comes across these
pictures ( which , by the way , do we really have military personnel
that are STUPID enough to take photos of it? Stupid in itself, but to
get in the photo and pose as if it is your birthday party.....well that
part kinda makes me laugh . It's like looking at some dumb-ass smiling
and waving in the middle of the street, and a truck is about to hit
them.) Any way, if you are the person that found these , what is the
first thing you think of?
1). That's just mean
2). Wow. I could make a shit-load of dough by selling these to the media
3). Maybe I should report this to my C.O.
4). Hmmm, maybe this is a form of punishment for PRISONERS WHO REFUSE TO
COOPERATE WITH OUR MILITARY
This one is probably the least likely, simply because it requires some
thought. If they had chosen #4 we would not be discussing this. (OH
hindsight , my mocking friend) Now here's where I really get angry. Our
government should have shut this story down the second they smelled it.
Instead they stand and say "oh what a horror, how tragic, we are so
sorry" and proceed to punish our military for doing their job. How
politically correct. The rest of the world doesn't play the P.C. game ,
so now we look like an ass. This should have been handled within the
military, punish the idiots who took and posed for the photos, and keep
pushing those prisoners to give up every stinking bit of info that they
have. The general public should not be privy to every piece of
information that is uncovered in every investigation, I do not need to
know about Mr. Clinton's sexual practices. and If I wanted to be face to
face with the tragedy that is war, I would have enlisted. The only thing
that was accomplished by this was , making us look like the bad guy.

"Capitalist Attitude"
I know I could be a more
financially secure individual if I had more of a cutthroat attitude.
There is no loyalty between employer & employee, man & wife, family with
one another or even friends. We are obtainers and collectors of shit,
most of which is unnecessary. Life really is a simple thing. We as
Americans feel the need to inflate our egos with lines like "It's not
that Black & White" or "Check out what I got". It gives us a superior
sense of sophistication that we seem to need like a child needs a
security blanket. The happiest times in my life are intimacy with my
wife, listening to my sons stories about something he thinks is cool and
swilling beer with my friends until all hours of the night. When I'm
laying on my deathbed reflecting on my life, it will be these moments
that will make me know I've lived a full life. Don't misunderstand me,
I want more money it's just that I'm limited by a set of ethics that
fuck me over. Treat people with respect and attention until they no
longer deserve it. Don't live beyond your means. Some things are
needed, everything else is just a want. We do everything to excess in
our society. I see people every day of my life, (some I call friend)
that have this cutthroat attitude. They do well financially but most of
them have been divorced or hardly ever see their children or family.
These individuals do have loyalty but only to the dollar. The whole
"It's nothing personal, It's strictly business" line is a crock of
shit. I only come down on my employees when they are taking advantage
of my sparkling personality, and then it is personal. Think about all
of the bullshit lawsuits you here about where a plaintiff is awarded
tons of money for being a stupid shit. There is so much frivolous
bullshit to be had in this country and most of it is crap anyway.

"The Automated Office"
This is the worst. Let's create a paperless office environment! It'll
save the trees (noble), it'll make referencing information faster
and more efficient, (if everything always works perfect) and
it'll save on space (again if everything works perfect). There is
one simple truth to anything electronic. Eventually if you depend on it
enough it's only a matter of time before it leaves you twisting in the
wind. This is not a possibility or even a probability. It's fact. There
are times even in our modern life that electricity cannot be had. Keep
in mind that I'm not even including breakdowns. I know that everyone is
aware that computers never breakdown and data is never lost (that's
another story) but what about the other things. Sometimes phone
circuits go down, mobile phone system providers can be overloaded in
times of crisis and we have all lost power from time to time and reached
for some rechargeable device that was dead. The more you adopt a
lifestyle dependent on these sorts of things the more devastated you are
when they are not at your disposal. This can be life or death for a
company. I work for a computer networking firm and I guarantee we have
hard copies of just about everything.
Now let's look at phone system automation. Here is a technology that was
developed because people have so much crap to say that they are willing
to tell it to a machine if nobody will listen to them. Those are the
types of people everyone with a phone system is trying to avoid (so
nobody ever has to deal with anyone else). It's nice to know that
America's automated phone systems will transfer you automatically to
Bombay India if you have a problem. Talking to you about your problem is
beneath an American. We're paid too well to give a shit about you but
those guys over seas with the colorful accents are not paid very well
and therefore will be happy to listen to the spoiled rotten American on
the phone who in his superior intellect has fucked his shit all up. It's
just too expensive for Americans or American companies to give a shit
about you.

"Cable News Channels"
There are several 24 hour news
channels on most cable channel line-ups today. This is a good thing for
me because I enjoy hearing about what is going on in the world and you
can't usually get in-depth enough on time restricted network news
programs. The cable channels are great in this regard and at one time
they covered a wide variety of news. Now it seems like they only focus
on Headlines just like network news but since they're on 24 hours a day
you get the same thing repeated all day long and even weeks on end. I'm
not sure if this is because they feel there is a shortage of descent
news stories and they're forced to repeat themselves as time filler or
what. I do know that stories like the Lacy Peterson murder trial is not
worthy the coverage it's getting. It's unfortunate but I'm sure some
husband kills his wife and even kids more that a couple of times in our
country every year and they are not covered in the fashion this trial
has been covered. The television news channels pick and choose what
story they want to cover and then glorify it. It's almost a method of
programming the audience to only be informed on certain events. Unless
you're prepared to dig yourself you will never get anything except the
news they want you to have. We now have a 24 hour local news channel in
my area and it's a local version of the same. There is a half dozen
news stories that just get re-ran over and over again.

"Electoral College"
I can understand that our
electoral college help to keep our presidential elections fair but it
still seems like a flawed system. If a candidate wins the popular vote
it simply means more people want this individual to be president than
whomever he or she is running against. This is the will of the people
and it must be seriously considered. I am no student of political
science or have any other formal education but it seems that if the will
of the majority is not being observed then our democracy is a facade. I
vote primarily republican and I'm happy that George W. Bush won the last
election but I don't believe it was truly fair.

"Modern Pop Music"
The modern music industry is in terrible peril. Kids
are what drives the industry and they are strictly into shock value
rather than music. This of course forces record producers to sign
anyone who can be more vulgar, obscene and violent than the
competition. Music itself has become a non-issue for selling records.
A few performers that almost pass as performing music such as the
patented boy bands don’t write any music, lyrics or play an instrument.
This tells me that we are being fed diarrhea instead of music. These
performers are being taught a few (and I do mean few) dance steps and
then are dressed up, made up and rammed down the throat of high school
kids who are stupid enough to buy into it. I like to look at sexy
models as much as anyone but I doubt I would buy one of their CD’s.
When I hear rap performers talking tough because they have a gun or have
been shot at it cracks me up. When I was a kid growing up if you pulled
a gun or knife on anyone all it meant was you were a chicken-shit who
was afraid to take an ass whipping. Since the few true music makers out
there are writing music instead of shocking obscene or violent rhymes,
you never get to hear from them. No airplay because there is no market
for such material. So here we are in the musical toilet with no toilet
paper. Sorry guys and gals but it’s just not going to get any better
until critical mass is reached and I have no idea what or when that is.

"Christmas"
It amazes me the lengths our society will go to remove Christianity from
our culture. Not only will they rewrite the history of our country if
left unchecked but will also attempt strip the religious symbolism from
holidays everyone enjoys. I was watching a show on CNN and there was a
couple on discussing how many diffrent cultures have adopted there own
meaning into Christmas. The thing that floored me was this quote.
"Even the Christians have adopted Christmas to celebrate the birth of
Christ". DUUHH!!!! Do you really think so? Well I'll be damned. Who
would have thought that? The complete mental retardation of the general
populace disgusts and frightens me.
I am a catholic! Christmas is a celebration of the birth of Christ,
hence the name. It is my opinion that if you celebrate Christmas and
are not Christians then you are a hypocrite. Here is a link to read

It is a dangerous time in the world for Christians not only because of
middle east turmoil but because of everyone. This is the first year in
a century that the grade schools in Rome, Italy are NOT
performing the nativity as there Christmas school play. Instead they
have decided to do "Little Red Riding Hood".

"Management"
It amazes me at how quickly a manager can loose touch
with what it takes to get a job done. Even if it is a company they
founded and have personally done every job, they still seem to become
little more than number crunchers. I don't really believe they have
forgotten but have simply chosen to ignore the logistics. It also
floors me when they treat their employees as idiots when it's the
employees who keeps the business afloat. No matter how bloated they
make there job sound, most business owners perform simple addition &
subtraction and little more. This leaves me to believe that management
it the more mentally inept of the personnel in any business. As with
any rule there are exceptions. You can tell these exceptions because
the employees will have a deep respect for the management. These are
managers who lead through example. Managers who lead through
micromanagement & policy will always step over dollars to pick up dimes
and lose the respect of their employees. Lastly these managers will not
care if they lose the respect of their employees.
